Conveniently located in the community of Loomis, California, just northeast of Sacramento, we are pleased to offer a practice unique to the area. Drs. Langdon Fielding, Jill Higgins, and Catherine Jacobs are co-owners of the Equine Medical Center. These three doctors bring a combination of specialty training focusing on continuing education, energy, and a commitment to quality health care for horses. Associate doctors are selected for their high professional standards, humanitarian spirit, and specific interest in horses. Similarly, our animal health technicians and administrative staff have selected equine veterinary jobs because of their interest and caring.

Loomis Basin Equine Medical Center provides a full service hospital facility for the comprehensive care of horses, as well as llamas and alpacas. We currently have 20 barn stalls, five of which are sized to comfortably house a mare and foal. We have stalls that are designated for isolation of suspected infectious diseases. Grass turnouts and dirt paddocks are available for horses that are more comfortable outside. Both our stalls and paddocks are available for short term boarding of your horses while you are on vacation, etc. Twenty-four hour intensive care is provided for all critical patients and a trained technician is always on the premises for treatments and monitoring of all hospitalized patients. We also provide lay-up services for horses needing long-term care, such as frequent medication or daily bandage changes. Please call to inquire about prices for boarding and medical lay-up.
